It is a spacious 1 bedroom apt. with almost all the amenities. The couple that runs the little store downstairs doesn't speak much English, but are very willing to get help to foster communication. A/C did not work, but wasn't a big problem. Since it is located right on a tram line, it can be noisy. It's a little bit outside downtown, but there are several options for getting to the apt. once you know your way around Bratislava a bit. Good place for folks who don't need a 5 star hotel but do want their own bathroom and something a little more upscale than a hostel. Price was right. Really good if you want to do your own cooking. It was as described and expected. Very nice and clean, suitable for travelers who do not mind to care for breakfast on their own and use public transport (or walk) to visit the center, quite luxurious apartment, unbelievable for that low price. We stayed from 22nd September to 25th September 2006. The owner was very friendly and managed to understand us and make himself understood although he could not speak much English and we couldn't speak either Slovakian or German. He collected us at the Airport and made us very welcome. The apartment was clean and very well equiped, just as described on your website. Although the trams were quite noisy especially on the Monday morning because of the double glazing the noise was minimal. The main centre was just a 20 minute walk away and the tiny local bar up the road on the left as you look at the apartment from the road is well worth a visit. The apartment was great and as expected, it was perfect for what we needed, was very clean & in perfect order. I would definately recommend it to others, it was a good base close to the city centre. It was even better than expected. I have stayed in hotels and apartments in Bratislava on many occasions, but this was by the far the best accomodation for value and overall comfort. It was very good, clean, well maintained, the only minor problem was restricted utensils,e.g. no potato peeler, sieve, butter knives, this didn't present too much of a problem, and it certainly would not stop us going again, trams were a bit noisy first thing in morning, 4am, sometimes, so we couldn't keep the windows open all night, but there was air conditioning in the apartment, so that helped.
If you decide to stay here (and please do try it) walk straight across the road from the apartment, veer very slightly to the right, you can cut through what I think is a block of flats, this will bring you onto the walk along the Danube, 20 minutes into the town, pleasant enough, about 10 mins along this walk you will come across Park Kultury, it's a sports centre, volley ball etc. (<< Back to Apartments Lafranconi)

As the apartment was ideal, it made our stay wonderful. Our flight out was delayed by over 4 hours and the owner was there to pick us up at 11.30 at night. We were made very welcome. The apartment was in a very good location and only a short tram ride from the castle and old town. I enjoyed the 20 minute walk along the Danube into the town and would recommend it to everyone. It was even better than we expected. It was clean and stylish. All the kitchen equipment was in good condition. The shower was a bit difficult to use but otherwise it was really nice apartment and close to the centre. The noise of the trams and owner's dog's barking were quite loud, but not too disturbing. The accommodation in Apartment Svoboda Embankment was great, as it was described. Great comfort for 4 persons, cleanliness and very affordable. Location of apartment was also a benefit because it is so near city center and Danube river, and parking on the street in front of the house, and supermarket in house yard. It wasn't as we expected, it was better!! with difference. I'm sure it's the best accommodation and one of the cheapest in all Bratislava. The apartment is completely new, it's very beautiful. Everything was as described on your website. The apartment was very nice and all the people we met were very kind. We were pleased to find a little store nearby (it belongs to the building) where we could buy cheese, bread, wine and so on. It is open from 8 am until 9 pm. Booking was perfect and I did stay at the apartment. The Apartment was 100% as it was decribed, maybe even better to be honest.
The apartment was perfect in most ways, was described well on the web site, perfect for anyone wanting to stay in Bratislava. The only things I could find fault with were: the dog that lives by the apartment was barkng at very early hours, aroung 0600hrs every morning, can be a little annoying. The only other thing I would advise the owners is maybe a little information on Bratislava put in one of the drawers, taxi numbers, things to do etc. But the apartment was so clean, looked like I'd just walked into a show room. It was better than expected. The apartment was immaculate. In my opinion, its a great choice. It's an excellent and inexpensive place to stay, and ideal for anyone wishing to self-cater, as its fully equipped and there are two grocery stores within a minutes walk. It's not IN the tourist part of the city - which may put some people off - but is about a 15-20 mins walk along the Danube. Its also very easy to get there using buses or trams - they run very frequently - but be sure to collect enough change as the machines don't appear to take notes! You do get some traffic noise which I didn't find a problem, but people not used to this may want to bring ear plugs. The manager of the apartment was friendly and helpful. It was difficult to find the apartment because there were works in the district and we thought that it was in the center of Bratislava.
We liked very much the apartment because it was very comfortable and equipped very well; the Mister who gave us the key was very accomodating.

The apartment makes a good choice because its localisation close to the historical center of Bratislava (tram and bus stops are in the neighbourhood). It is newly furnished, clean and very well equipped, enough space for 2-4 persons. Windows muffle effectively noises from the street.
