UFO Cafe, Restaurant and Watch on Top of Bratislava Bridge Re-Opens

SNP BridgeJune 21, 2005 (BratislavaGuide.com) - The flying saucer-shaped cafe on top of Bratislava's New Bridge 85 metres above ground re-opened to visitors following two years of refurbishment work.

The venue consists of an up-scale restaurant, bar and a sightseeing deck that had never been accessible before located 95 metres above ground. It can be reached by an elevator in one of the pillars in about 45 seconds.

The New Bridge, formerly known as the SNP Bridge, is the world's seventh largest suspension bridge and was declared the construction of the 20th century in Slovakia. It was built between 1967 and 1972 and a large part of the Bratislava Old Town had to give way to this symbol of Communist modernity. The upper deck was inaccessible in the Communist era as it gave great views of capitalist Asutria.

The UFO sightseeing deck dubbed Watch is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The UFO Taste Restaurant serves Mediterrasian fare - a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian cuisines, an extensive international selection of wines and coctails. Taste is open daily from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. except Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

UFO Groove, a stylish nightclub, is only open on selected nights, mainly for invitation only parties.
