Cultural Summer and Castle Festival Bratislava 2006

Bratislava, June 11, 2006 (BratislavaHotels.com) - From June 21 to September 20, 2006 Bratislava celebrates Cultural Summer and Castle Festival Bratislava 2006, the 31st year of the city's summer festival. The three month festival takes place at the Bratislava Castle and venues around the Old Town, presenting 190 events on 16 stages with performers from 18 countries.

The highlight of the festivities will be the August 10-20, 2006 Viva Musica! Festival, a modern festival of classical music taking place in the Main Square, Courtyard of the Old Town Hall and the Presidential Garden.

The Bratislava Castle courtyard is dedicated to Summer Shakespeare's Festivities with more than twenty dramas staged. The Castle's Concert Hall will welcome the traditional Days of Organ Music and the cycle Concerts will present exclusive performances by renowned Slovak artists - musician Marian Varga with the Moyzes Quartet, singer/actor Milan Lasica with Bratislava Hot Serenaders and composer Peter Breiner with the Tango Trio.

The cycle of Old Music (musical treasures of Slovak and European history from 9th to 17th century), Meeting with Historical Bratislava (family show "Old Bratislava" with movies, historical cards and workshops), Theatre Week (profesional and amateur groups ane performances) and Days of Masters in the Bratislava Castle (program, dedicated to Day of Constitution, (September 1, 2006) is full of folklore and traditional crafts)
