DoubleTree by Hilton to Open Next to Ice Hockey Arena

Bratislava, February 28, 2011 (BratislavaHotels.com) - Just in time for the 2011 IIHF Ice Hockey Championship a 120-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel is scheduled to open next to Bratislava's Ondrej Nepela Arena.

The hotel built by companies tied to the leadership of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation has been mired by controversy: works began without all required construction permits and the developer repeatedly attempted to legalise a heliport on the roof, despite residential buildings nearby.

Reportedly the Slovak and Czech national ice hockey teams will stay in the DoubleTree during the championship.
