The location as well as the cleanliness of the hostel was very good.
However, I was surprised somewhat at the high price for the hostel. Having experienced hostels in various other countries, it seemed rather high. I was also surprised that some guests were free to carry on conversations in loud voices in the common areas long into the night and morning, to the detriment of sleeping guests.

Downtown Backpackers' Hostel situated in a historical building just a few steps from the Presidential palace and within walking distance of most historical sights, clubs and bars. It offers wonderful possibility of exploring Bratislava Old Town at a reasonable price.

The hostel provides clean and modern rooms and assistance of friendly staff. Kitchen, laundry and non-stop internet access are available at Backpacker's.

The hostel offers dorm rooms and two types of private rooms. The bathroom and toilet facilities for dorms and two double rooms are shared and located in the hallway.

The hostel provides both bed linens and towels.

Restaurant/bar serving international cuisine and two types of beer is located in the same building. It is popular with locals too and it is a good place to get to make new friends. There is also garden terrace opened during the summer.

The hostel is good option for travellers who want to stay downtown and have easy access to most of the restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs.

Take bus bus no. 61 (direction hlavna stanica) to the Main Train Station (17 stops, 25 min)

From the Main Train Station:
Take bus no. 93 (direction vozovna Petrzalka) and get off at Hodzovo namestie (2 stops, 4 min). Go straight into the narrow Panenska street, walk about 20 meters, Hostel Backpacker's is on your right.

From Bus Station:
Take trolleybus no. 208 (Stare Mesto, Sulekova) or 206 (direction Kramare, Narodny ustav srdcovych a cievnych chorob) and get off at Hodzovo namestie (4 stops, 7 min). Walk through the underground passage to right and go straight up to the narrow Panenska street. Walk about 20 meters, Hostel Backpacker's is on your right.

Lounge furniture looked dirty, and suspect that fire precautions do not meet EU requirements. But this didn't stop me enjoying great atmosphere, and staff who went out of their way to make this old man feel welcome!3
