Old Town Hall in Bratislava is a historic building on the Main Square in Bratislava and is one of the oldest buildings in Bratislava. It consists of several buildings, namely Jacob’s House, Pawera‘s House, Unger’s House and Aponi palace that were built in different styles.

The building was used as a town hall from the 15th century to the late 19th century. At that time it was also used for another purpose, such as a prison, mint, place of shops and celebrations. It was used as a depository of army and city archives.

Today there is the City Museum, showing the exhibition of the history of Bratislava. Among the exhibits including instruments of torture, old town dungeons, historic weapons, armours, paintings and miniatures. One of the attractions is the cannonball built into the wall of the tower that Napoleon’s soldiers fired out in the 19th century. Bratislava has a rich history and here you can enjoy it all under one roof.
