The palace was built in the classical style with a shield decorated with allegorical statues. Originally it served as the seat of the archbishop of Esztergom Joseph Batthyany whose cardinal coat of arms is carved at the top of the tympanum. Today the palace is a representative office of the Mayor of Bratislava but is still open to the public. In the famous Mirror Room are held concerts and weddings. In the past was in the Mirror Hall Napoleon signed the Peace of Pressburg between France and Austria. In the palace you can find a rare collection of English tapestries from the 17th century.
