Good choice: close to the very center, cheapest accomodation in Bratislava, excellent for low-budget. Good rules of silence after 22.00 and a really clean and safe place. I'll go back to Patio Hotel next time I'll come to Bratislava, for sure. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Hostel Patio from outside was worst than i expected but in the inside and the staff were very nice. I think that Hostel Patio is a good choice for low-budget travelers. Central clean and not to expensive. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

The hostel was as described - although one person complained about the dark entrance, I found this wasn't a problem as it was actually well-lit once you walked into it, and the hostel was well-signposted. The staff were all as friendly and courteous as described, and the dorm room was bright, cheerful and clean. The bed was comfortable, linen clean, free internet access was a great bonus and both nights I only had to share a 6 bed dorm with one other girl, in both cases they were friendly and quiet - although on the second night I stayed (after the weekend - I ended up staying in Bratislava on my way home as well, which I hadn't intended, as the hostel was so welcoming and comfortable). On the monday a large group of school kids was staying, who romped around quite late but they weren't too loud, considering there was about 100 of them!
I would highly recommend Hostel Patio as a choice for budget travellers, as the rooms are cheerful and comfortable, but it is the friendly and welcoming staff who really make this an exceptional Hostel experience. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Hostel Patio was almost as we expected according to the description, however, we did not welcome the shared bathroom facilities and their lack. Thank god the hostel was not full. Our three-bed room contained one chair, a small table, the hangers in the closet were missing, but there was one towel - used or fresh, I don't know. Bed linens were clean but the blanket had some washed stains and the carpet wasn't clean either. Much could be improved in terms of hygiene, but the staff was pleasant and the hostel has a convenient location near the centre, which suited us well. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Cheap, clean. Downside: single beds and common lavatories but that is not an issue for a hostel in that price range. The staff is really friendly and helpful. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Olli from Finland wrote on 05.10.2005:
Good: Location.
Bad: Too noisy when windows open. Too hot inside if not open.
Water in shower was cold at the most of the time. And boilers in hand-wash-places didn't work. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Good: cheap, good rooms, very good and friendly service. Bad: maybe the entrance; half broken road in front of the hotel gives it a bit a shabby appearence. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Hostel was clean and peaceful. Only problem was that receptionists were really busy and they werent on top of things all the time. But they were really kind and everything went well for us. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

The hostel was as described and close to the city centre, making it a good choice for other travellers. The friendliness of the staff, including being met and transported from the station, encourages me to recommend this to friends. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

I was so impressed by my experience at Patio.
Hostels are all a bit of a blur after a while, but the people are what makes places and experiences unique.
You were all so amazingly friendly and helpful, not just with me, I noticed you are like that with everyone that comes through.
Thanks for looking after me so well, I have very fond memories. The hostel is nice and there is a great atmosphere, but the staff make it really special. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

The overall experience was good and the staff very competent and friendly. One exception was the toilet on 2nd which was wet with water dripping from the sealing and the fact that there were only one shower for all woman to share and the size was 1m2 and no mirror. This seems to me a very low standard! (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Patio Hostel was as described on your site and generally a good value for the money. The staff is the hostel's greatest asset. They were all very kind and helped me with the many requests that I had. The hostel's only drawback is the absence of a pay telephone. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Price for backpackers, good service also important...The entrance for Hostel Patio is really terrible, I think Patio Hostel may lose lots of people just when they see the entrance and they don't get through to the hostel. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Good: very friendly staff, cleanness, possibility to cook or at least eat your own food at the hostel, VERY central situation!!!, internet (free!)
Bad: loud people in the court (that should be avoided), thin walls (from room 21 you can hear any sound that comes from the toilet) (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Stefanie from Germany wrote on 03.04.2005:
Our neighbours were too loud in the night, but that is, what you can achieve in a hostel. It was a simple hostel, less comfortable but a place to sleep and leave the luggage over the day. The personel was great, answered all questions, helped to find places, trains and book boattrips. Best service! (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

I am satisfied with the way your site processed the booking and with what I found in Hostel Patio. They answered in time, the place looks as they described it and I think it can be a good choice, especially for young travelers and every one who wishes to meet other people in Bratislava - not only to see the city. The entrance from Spitalska street is scaring, dark, but it is not their fault. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)

Maurin from Austria wrote on 04.03.2005:
Hotel was very, very disappointing. First, although welcome was very good, the room itself is a shame (OK, this is 10 euros, cheap if you think about it), but how can you explain the sheet are too
short for the beds? Generally speaking, rooms look like (clean) prison cells. Second, drunken people in the middle of the night came back to the 2nd floor and make a mess for a long time. I heard EVERYTHING, hoped somebody would come up from the reception, at some point. Nobody came, although the noise was terrible. Moreover, next morning, the hall was a battlefield. It's a pity because the location is ideal, the inner courtyard makes it very cosy and quiet. Improving furnitures, wall ornaments, service would make it a must in Bratislava. So far I must admit I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. (<< Back to Hostel Patio)
