Your description of the Hotel was accurate. The Hotel was very clean, very efficient at check in & check out time. The location is excellent, and the hotel is good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Bratislava. The only negative I would have is that there is not much information in the hotel about things to do, tours etc

Meydan Hotel Danube is a four-star hotel located in the center of the city right on the Danube river bank. You can get rooms with a beautiful view of the Danube or a view of the Bratislava Castle.

Its rooms are done out in pleasant pastels. In addition to Standard Rooms located on first and second floor the hotel offers Superior Rooms on the third floor. On the fourth floor there are Panorama Rooms which offer more comfort and more services than previously mentioned rooms.

The Danube has a well appointed relaxation center, computer facilities, several excellent award-winning restaurants. Demanding business and leisure guests find Hotel Danube a prime choice in a prime location. Hotel Danube offers four rooms for disabled persons.

As of December 2007, the hotel management has been taken over by Rezidor, which will rebrand the Danube as the Park Inn Danube Hotel.

Breakfast is included in the price listed (Buffet breakfast).

Discounts: Sunday Brunch is free for children up to 12 years.

To get there by public transport:
From Airport take bus bus no. 61 to the Main Train Station. Change for tram no. 13 ( direction Nam. Ludovita Stura) and get off at Nam Ludovita Stura stop. Change for tram no. 12 ( direction Dubravka) and get off at Novy most stop. Hotel Danube is in front of you. (45 minutes)

From Main Train Station take tram no.13 ( direction Nam. Ludovita Sura) and get off at Nam. Ludovita Stura stop. Change for tram no. 12 (direction Dubravka) and get off at Novy Most stop. Hotel Danube is in front of you. (25 minutes)

From Berg border crossing:
Take route E58 (Viedenska road) until the exit to E75 (Einsteinova street). Follow Einsteinova street. Continue until exit to the Novy most - New Bridge and use it to cross the Danube. Keep to the right and exit the bridge using first exit. Pass under the bridge, on the traffic lights turn to the left (almost 360 degrees) and continue along Danube river bank. Pass under the bridge once again and continue on Razusovo nabrezie (Razus embankment) until second traffic lights. Make a U-turn and go back for about 200 meters, then turn right to the Riegleho street. Hotel Danube parking lot is on the left.

From highway D61:
Pass IKEA and Hypernova shopping malls and follow the "centrum" (city center) traffic signs. Drive straight towards Pristavny most (Port bridge), below the overpass to the roundabout. Follow the "centrum" sign. You are now on Pristavna street. Drive straight down the street, continue straight to the Landererova street. In the end of Landererova street turn to the left to Dostojevskeho rad. Pass the traffic lights and continue on Vajanskeho nabrezie (Vajansky embankment). On next traffic light continue straight and then turn right to the Riegleho street. Hotel Danube parking lot is on the left.

The information re the hotel and how to reach it was correct and we found it to be an extremely central place to stay. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, the convenience of a secure undercover garage was much appreciated as we were travelling with ski equipment etc, but we were surprised and a little disappointed as the "ordinariness" of the rooms although they were comfortable, clean and met our requirements. Taking into account the excellent location we had expected a higher quality hotel for the price but would definitely recommend the place to other prospective guests. (I could add that the male front desk clerk was efficient but quite arrogant upon check-in but the female clerk on check-out was extremely helpful and full of information. Every other staff member we met was also most pleasant and willing to assist where possible.)

Hotel Danube is as described, a very good four star hotel with excellent service and breakfast. For a hotel in this category the rooms are a bit too small but we did not mind as we were fully content with the rest of it.
