Hotel Kyjev closed after October 31 2011 - other budget accommodation options in Bratislava
Hotel Kyjev in downtown Bratislava will close for renovation after about 40 years of uninterrupted operation. The hotel, known as one of the icons of Slovak modernist architecture, is not accepting bookings after October 31.
The renovation of the hotel is part of a bigger project to change the landscape of Kamenné square where the hotel is located. The British company promised to introduce the details of the overall project next year. The shops in the hotel as well as the parking area around the hotel will continue to be open.
Currently the cheapest accommodation option in Bratislava is Art Hostel Taurus located in the very city centre close to Bratislava castle only about five minutes of walk from the Main Square. The hostel offers accommodation in quad mixed rooms from 12.99 per person per night. Two shared bathrooms and two toilets are located in the hallway.
