The Hotel Matysak was an very nice hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. The restaurant was fine and the on-site (free) parking was convenient. With only a short walk to the center of Bratislava, the location is quiet but accessible to attractions and night-life. The hotel is best suited for families as well as certain business travelers. It was even better than expected. The hotel was very clean, the room is spacious and nice, the food at the restaurant was very good. Receptionists were helpful and spoke English well. It is not cheap but really worth the price.
The only inconvenience is that it is not easily reachable by car. Once we found it, as we were on the opposite side of the road, we had to drive a lot to the opposite direction until we were finally able to turn round. They should put indicators beside the road. (<< Back to Hotel Matysak)

Hotel Matysak was far more that I expected, the quality and standard of the hotel was very high. The customer service was excellent and very friendly. I would say that the description of the hotel does not do it justice and that the Hotel Matysak is far better than what anyone could gauge from the description on the bratislavahotels.com site. The hotel was quite good, as described and expected and I would
certainly recommend it. One of the highlights was my dinner at the hotel restaurant. Quality and service were excellent. Food (duck) and wine were superb. I also appreciated being able to smoke a cigar in the separate smoking room. It would have been fantastic if at that point I had been offered a cognac! The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The price was fair. Everything at this hotel seemed to be brand new. The only thing that was missing was an airconditioning. It wasnt hot at the time I stayed there but I expected that it might get really hot in the room when the sun is shining. I would recommend this hotel to all other travelers that don't want to live downtown. The city is easily to reach via bus or by a 10 min walk. (<< Back to Hotel Matysak)

Hotel and our junior suite was new, nice and clean, but big suprise (dissatisfaction) was missing air condition as rooms were very hot and that's why also very uncomfortable to stay especially during nights (outside temperature was around 30C during daytime)!!! Also service in in the reception was not so good (we need to pickup LAN cable and air blowers from the reception instead of them bringing them to us)! Price/quality/value ratio was not so good due earlier mentioned disappointments! I don't recommend this hotel to other travellers. (<< Back to Hotel Matysak)

The hotel was very pleasant surprise. For example, though my room was a standard double room, it was considerably larger than I expected - it resembled more a small apartment, including entrance hall, toilet room, large heated bathroom with enjoyably powerful shower, and main room. All rooms were very spacious and very well and consistently furnished. Although the hotel is on a busy street, the windows in my opinion provide good isolation from the street and that contributes to quite comfort of the Hotel. (<< Back to Hotel Matysak)
