The hotel was well priced in a good location. Ideal for what we needed
it for. I would use the same hotel again if we returned to Bratislava. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

The hotel was as described by some former visitors; the picture was somewhat misleading. When we read the experiences of visitors we laughed a bit and thought it would be fun to spend a weekend in a Eastern European Hotel. But what a wrong thought that was. It was like going back in time for more than a century. Especially when you compare the price, which is equal to a modern, clean and well located hotel in Holland.

To give you some examples:
- the beds were of a sort your back hurts the entire day
- two out of the four lights were not working
- the curtains were not fitting, too short and dirty; as was the carpet
- the walls of the bathroom came apart (apparently paint was used which is not suitable for wet areas)
- the shower head in the bath could not be hung
- the toilet seat was loose
- the soap and shampoo were of a sort one can not imagine
- the room was not cleaned for the next day, nor were there clean towels
- the breakfast was of the poorest sort, very little choice, nothing fresh.

One good thing: the ladies at the reception were all friendly, although they had to work with poor materials:
- when we arrived we could not check in because the computer was not working
- when we checked out the same problem

Our conclusion:
Next time we visit Bratislava, or if any of our friends will go there, we will advise them to choose a modern, western equipped hotel, as we have learned for about the same price!! And not to book the Sorea hotel!! (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

The staff was very kind but two aspects need to be improved: first there was no light on the corridors. I had to leave very early in the morning and it was almost completely dark inside the Hotel. On the other hand, it was the very first time in my “travelling” life that no one from the Hotel arranged my room or my bathroom. On the 3rd (last) day I arrived after dinner at the Hotel and the room was exactly the same as I left it in the morning. So I had no towels for the last day… (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

I stayed two nights in this hotel and for me it felt like being back in the communist times. As a business traveller travelling all over Europe it was disappointing expericience indeed. The staff is really very friendly but the accomodation and the services they offer is extremely old- fashioned in all aspects (communist style !!) which you wouldn't expect anymore in a beautiful capital as Bratislava. The location is excellent with quite some opportunities to make it successful. With the help of some modernization & upgarding to the Western European standards they would attract a lot more international travellers both tourist and business. On top of this the price charged is too high and not in line with the price / quality ratio of more qualified hotels such as Holiday Inn where I normally stay. In conclusion you will understand that this hotel for me was a one time experience! (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

I would not stay there again. It was not a good value for the money. Only the public parts of the hotel are nice. The staff was rude. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

The hotel was fine, it took a while to walk there but with tram or taxi it was OK. Breakfast was also very good, and the staff was friendly. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

The staff were very helpful. Locationwise was great, only 10 minutes walk to the centre. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

Hotel conditions could be better, but for that good price was not bad. They serve poor breakfast - scrambled eggs was not eatable. Hotel crew (reception and restaurant) speak English very poor - big problems to understand each other. I can not advise that hotel for business travel accomodation. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

The hotel was further away from the old center than we had been led to believe and in worse condition than expected. We've stayed at old "communist era" hotels before (both renovated and otherwise) and felt it closer to the non-renovated versions. We would not recommend this hotel to any of our friends. We found it over priced relative to its quality (even the renovated rooms were long from 3 star quality and the light was not turned on in the hall way on our floor). The service in the restaurant was good the one night we ate there. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

I think it was not at the standard of the other hotels we stayed in Czech Republic and Poland, in the same category. Hotel's location is useful, but the standard is poor. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)

Breakfast was terrible, check in lady at desk spoke little english and no german and was very confusing to us and others. At check out, another lady with good english said Visa reader was not working and we must take a taxi to get cash to pay, we refused and suddenly the machine was working again. All was as a hotel should be, but the restaurant deserves to be better used in the evening. Food, price and service were all excellent. The standard of breakfast was also high. (<< Back to Hotel Sorea)
