Latest feedback on Hostel Star: The Hotel Star is exactly like it says on the internet page, no surprises there. We didn't mind that the hotel is dirty, we had a big problem with the communication with the hotel staff because none of them speak English and that was big problem.Neven from Croatia wrote on 06.01.2008 More feedback...
The budget Hotel/Hostel Star is a larger hostel-type facility outside of the centre in the Trnavka district of Bratislava, some half-hour from the Old Town by bus or 20 minutes by car.
Hostel Star offers two differently-priced sections of rooms. Part "A" provides two-bed or three-bed bedrooms without a bathroom or toilet (shared toilets and a shared bathroom are located in the hallways). Visitors' feedback: Lukasz from Poland wrote on 03.08.2007: The rooms were clean and quite big, so I'm satisfied.Alicja from Poland wrote on 05.04.2007: It was far from the city centre and not very comfortable, but considering the price we expected nothing special. But there were also things that quite shocked us.
The bathrooms were very, very dirty and also the bed sheets. Another thing was that we didn't feel there safe at all! This is not a hostel for tourist but some kind of a hotel for workers who were drunk and rude - so I don't understand why it is advertised on the website with tourist hostels. The staff was rude also. That is why I think I was the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.Abdel from Egypt wrote on 13.06.2006: The level of Hostel Star is proportional to its rate per night .Martina from Croatia wrote on 21.01.2006: The pictures on the web site are not as the hostel looks like... It is really dirty and our sheets were very dirty. Really, I would not recommend it to nobody... because it is far, we spent one hour trying to find the entrance and when we got there it was horrible... The man at reception desk was not nice... I dont think he realy cares abut the guests... and we got room with three beds, not two as we asked... We spent there just one night because it was very late when we arrived and we were too tired to find another hostel but we went to another one next day.Andrej from Slovenia wrote on 07.01.2006: It is a good choice for travellers with own cars because it is hard to reach and in winter especially but when you get to the hotel it is nice and comfortable. But for a traveller by train it is far from the city center but again for that price the best compromise.Pekka from Finland wrote on 22.08.2005: We were a bit dissapointed with the Hostel Star. The pictures on the website did not give a true image of the place. We went there, checked the room and decided to take another accommodation. I know the price was low and i shouldn't expect a lot, but i wasn't pleased with the condition of the building at all.>> Read older feedback for Hostel Star
