Hotel UVS in Bratislava, Slovakia Hotel is convenient to (map ): Train st.
Latest feedback on Hotel UVS: Location: Well, it's quite far from the center - by foot however this not problem at all. Actually I originally planed arrive by bike but finelly I arrive by train. Our trip by bus was short and we need so much time to buy tickets because the clerks didn't speak English at all.
Cleanliness: The room was clear however I expected room service, cleaning the rest room and changeing the towels everyday. The towels were clear but old and frazzled. The door of the bathroom couldn't be shut.
Quality: The furnitures and the TV were right. The Hungarian channels made us surprised.
Breakfast: I missed the hot meals like sausages and fried eggs. The coffee was weak and terrible. (I hope this NOT the typical Slovakian coffee.) The place of breakfast closed exactly at 9 o'clock. Actually it is correct but in other hotel there's no time limit for breakfast.
Staff: The English of several colleagues was not perfect but I was happy because we could understand each other. Everybody helped us to solve smaller or bigger problems. The most of women - even cleaners - looked young and pretty.Gabor from Hungary wrote on 31.10.2007 More feedback...
UVS is a simple hotel located in a nice, hilly and green part of Bratislava, Kramare, 15 minutes by public transport and an additional five minutes walk from the city centre.
The hotel is a part of the Institute of Adult Education, an organization providing a variety of training courses in the facility. The rooms are simple, perhaps betraying the hotel's origin as a former state institution. But the staff are very friendly and the hotel offers beautiful views of the city in a serene setting.
All type "A" rooms have a shower and WC, radio and TV. Business rooms are equipped with nicer furnishings, also have a fridge.
The hotel is suitable for budget travellers or business travellers on a tighter budget , or for anyone seeking a quiet environment. Parking for guests with cars is available free of charge.
The 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop is uphill and may not be suitable for guests who have trouble walking.

Visitors' feedback: Paul from Netherlands wrote on 23.08.2007: Room was as expected. Simple but clean. Adequate value for the money.Codrut from Romania wrote on 17.07.2007: The hotel was not what I had expected! The room was small, the bathroom was very, very small and it's not easy to find it (off-course, if you're for the first time in Bratislava)! I recommend it to anyone has a very limited budget and is interested to stay in Slovakia. Also, the breakfast is not too great.Bertrand from France wrote on 16.07.2007: We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel UVS. The personnel was competent and friendly. We liked the quiet location of the hotel. The price was reasonable, especially that there was a possibility for parking. My only suggestion is that the hotel staff should pay a bit of attention to the maintenance of the room (toilets, shower, windows and doors, etc.). Ideally, it would be good have dark curtains in the rooms.Kresimir from Croatia wrote on 28.05.2007: The hotel was better than I have expected. It was very quiet. However, it is not as close to the train station as indicated. It had only two bus stops, but 20 minutes of walking at least. The corridor was freshly painted in yellow, and I even though I opened the windows to let the fresh air in to dry the color rapidly, someone always closed them. There was no telephone in the room. This is maybe the major inconvenience. The breakfast was good enough, but the cleaning lady use a brush to wipe the tables from crumbs. Unfortunately this brush is used for sweeping the floor, so the sight was not encouraging.Marco from Italy wrote on 18.08.2006: UVS was a functional hotel, the personnel is kind. The hotel was well described and was like we expected. I reccommend it to anyone has a limited budget to stay in Bratislava.
About the accomodation, I think that the price of the room corresponds to the quality of the service we received. It is in the outskirts of the city but the bus stop is not so far from the hotel (well, the hotel is up on a hill but it takes about 8 minutes walk) and the last ordinary fare to the UVS from the downtown is at 11.30 pm and then there are the night lines. Jim from USA wrote on 12.08.2006: The hotel was not what I had expected. It is a dorm. But it was clean, well located and the dtaff was very nice. I would recommend it to travellers as an alternative to a hostel, but not for hotel seekers.>> Read older feedback for Hotel UVS
