Hotel was clean and staff was friendly, beds a little bit too hard for me. Quiet enviroment was also good. I can recomend it to travelers who pay their own expenses. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

The only thing that I didn't like in the hotel that it was very dirty and considering that I would not recommend this hotel to the others. The good thing is that the people who work there are very nice, kindly and helpful. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

I found more or less what I expected due to descriptions in the internet; I'd recommend the hotel for people who stay only a few days and demand no luxury but enjoy a quiet place in a green area. In winter, though, I guess to steep street leading to the hotel could become a problem.
"Warning" about the accomodation: Beds are extremely hard, maybe not everything works (e.g. in my room the bedside lamp didn't work), but the staff is helpful and friendly; breakfast is not too great... (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

The Hotel lived up to our expectations and we had a pleasant stay there. The personnel was very helpfull and friendly. We would definately recommend it to other travelers, seeing as it is relatively cheap in comparison to other hotels and the excellent public transport system in Bratislava compensates for the location. The B room looked depressing and it reminded me of the hotels from the comunist period. We had to upgrade for an A-type room which looked better. During the night it got pretty cold and the next day we asked for heat, so they moved us in another room which was warmer (it had better isolation = termopane windows).
The breakfast was pretty limited.
All in all, the people were nice but the rooms could be much better. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

My (short) stay there was very good and I can recommend this hotel to budget-travelers. The hotel personnel was extremely friendly and helpful, there is an internet connection, the room was very clean and it's a quiet place to stay. Also the breakfast was excellent: a lot of choice and very tasteful.
Maybe the only negative point is the position of the hotel: I came with a heavy suitcase by bus from the airport, and for the hotel you have to climb a very steep street - to the top of a hill (there is no closer bus-stop). For persons that aren't very fit or have to carry a lot it it's a hard walk. Off course, you can order a taxi... Positive of course is the quiet neighbourhood... (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Hotel UVS was fine and offered a good compromise between price and quality. It was as described in the website. I recommend it to other travelers who need to spend 1 or several nights in Bratislava. The hotel was quiet and the team was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is only 5 minutes from city center by car (taxi is cheap). (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Hotel was nearly as expected (expecting more forests around!) but not easy to find. This hotel was clean, affordable and comfortable so I would recommend it for those who are traveling by car. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

This hotel is good value for money and quite close to the city centre (7 minutes by trolleybus) but guests need to be reasonably fit to walk up a steep hill from the bus stop back to the hotel. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Our stay at the UVS hotel was a short one to attend a football match.
The room at the hotel was fine, although we only slept in it, and we had no complaints about the service.
Although slightly out of town, taxis were not a problem, and in terms of value for money the hotel was excellent. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

According to the picture I expected a more modern building, but interior view / furnishings were absolutely o.k. Hotel UVS was clean and quiet, the sevice could be a little bit gentler. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

The hotel is really situated in a green and quiet district of Bratislava, one does not feel that he is only in 5 min. ride from the center. Rooms of type A are very pleasant to the eye. One drawback: absence of telephone, though you can use Internet at the reception.
The hotel is good for those people, who, like me, seek cool air, isolation and quieteness, after a long-day walk. It is not meant for those who seek entertainment. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

The hotel is an excellent choice for budget travelers and for relatively long stays. In our case, we decided to cut costs in the hotel and use the remaining budget in renting a car (also through your website, with excellent results); in this way we had no problems in reaching the old town and we could also visit interesting nearby places. The hotel was -generally- as described. The hotel UVS is clean, located in a nice area, but the receptionists are not very friendly, I noted that they don't use the words "good morning", "goodbye", "please", "thank you"... This is only thing that disappointed me; the rest was good. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

We stayed at the Hotel for 6 nights and found the various receptionists at the Hotel ranging from moderately friendly and helpful to extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Mostly they had very poor understanding of English or German 2 languages that we speak and often it seemed like a huge imposition if we asked for anything. We had a broken bed, a disfunctional T.V and despite the Hotel advertising a kitchenette there were no facilities for heating food e.g. microwave. Also no kettle. I would not recommend Hotel UVS to any of my friends as also deliveries arrive at 5 am and the people bringing the goods would make a lot of noise and shout to each other ets. etc. In the 7 days we were there we did not get new towels, the room was never vacuumed and generally the place could have been cleaner. The general atmosphere of the Hotel was unwelcoming. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

It's a good choice because the rooms are quiet and you can be in the center of Bratislava within half an hour by bus and foot. One thing: the bus stop for the hotel has a new name "Siemens". Also, it was not clear to me that the hotel is up the street by about ten minutes on foot from the bus stop (five minutes if you are a fast walker). (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

The hotel was fine. It was exactly as we expected. It's too bad there is no bus up Bardasova Ulica. We have only two complaints about the hotel. One was the breakfast. Not everyone likes those cold meats. Boiled eggs would have been appreciated. The second complaint is about the television. There is no channel in either English or French. Either BBC World or CNN as well as HBO would be useful to foreign visitors. Many tourists don't understand Slovak, Czech or German. Without these "flaws" the hotel would be perfect, and would be good value for money. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Bob from UK wrote on 07.07.2005:
The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city, and is used by travellers from many countries. Its only disadvantage for us was the long walk up the hill from the bus stop in hot weather, and the journey time to get to the old town. This meant that we left the hotel after breakfast and did not return until late evening, making the day long. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Lori from USA wrote on 03.07.2005:
UVS was as described and very clean and friendly staff. It's a good choice for those wanting the convenience of internet access, a reception desk staffed by friendly, courteous people who spoke our language, and comfortable, clean rooms. The UVS was in a very quiet neighborhood which we appreciated after long days of touring. UVS Hotel would not be a good choice for elderly, physically impaired or those travelers who are not in good physical condition since the "climb" up the hill to the hotel may be too much for many travelers. It was fine for us, though. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

It was a very clean place, what I really appreciate: for this price it is a good buy and foreigners should know that it's clean. The breakfast was also good, I am veggie but was satisfied. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)

Everything was ok with one exception. It was a little bit noisy. There were some young girls next to us who did not care if we wanted to sleep or not. That's all. We enjoyed the rest so we'll recommend the hotel to others and maybe some day we'll visit again. (<< Back to Hotel UVS)
