Older Reviews for Hotel Zvarac Monika from Hungary wrote on 07.05.2006: It was clean, the room was cosy, the morning food was substantial (in Western Europe and in the U.S., you do not get that much and that variety for breakfast even in more expensive hotels). The transportation was good. I would recommend it to others, too. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Bastian from Canada wrote on 18.04.2006: I liked staying at hotel Zvarac. It's a simple hotel but the staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and nice. I would stay there again. Most important features: it's clean and quiet; of course not the most luxurious place in town; it still has some Eastern European flavour, especially because of the architecture and the neighbourhood. J., weak coffee, no hot dishes offered, unfriendly personnel). They should provide for tourist more information on the City. I will recommend the hotel to other economy or budget tourists. The only inconvient I found was that the hot water not always was available. It is also not very far from the Old Town, and in any case it is well communicated with Train Station, center, and universities. Can't wish more we really enjoyed our staying and would go back if needed. Do recommend. The rooms were the same as we expected (may be, even better), the personnel was very friendly, the breakfast was very big and good! The transport to the centre of the city and to the train and bus stations was convenient for us to reach this city-points (places) in short time. I think that this hotel is a very good choice for budget travellers. The additional plus is a supermarket near by the hotel. Also is very easy and cheap to get to the center of the Bratislava from Zvarac. Only problem, the staff there can't still speak normally English or German. I tried 10 minutes to order a wake up call, but receptionist so didn't understand what I wanted. Maybe you ll think that in this part of the city crime is a danger but it is not at all, the tram station is very cloes to the hotel and the people in bratislava are very kind and helpful and nice. The polus city center shopping center is also close to the hotel to go shopping. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is really really clean and comfortable. The staff is quite friendly also and it is well connected with the center of the town. We ordered a "double bed" room and were actually given a "twin" and had to pay a further SKK 250 to get it changed. The hot water was not available from 2-4 August which was rather inconvenient and no compensation was offered. There was also quite noisy building work going on next door. The Zvarac is a good but basic hotel in a rather run-down part of the city. Getting into the city is easy though as a tram stop is nearby. I wouldn't like to walk around the vicinity in the dark though. The hotel is good value for money if your not looking for anything luxurious and the staff are friendly and helpful. Maybe the knowledge of English or German of some staff at the reception desk was a problem, but we could handle it, because we could help us with Slovene, but I think it's quite a difficulty, if someone speaks only one foreign language. Tips about the city - Bratislava it's nice and not to big - so you can see everything in a short time. And I felt very secure in the city, what I think is very important. The price of the single room occupancy is very good when you compare to other hotels in Bratislava. It has easy access to the city by tram which is cheap, fast and reliable. The outside of the hotel is not very pretty but why should that matter. The staff were very helpful and the newly renovated room (Type A) was excellent. The furniture at the rooms was worn, the corridors, doors and windows should be renovated. There was no problem to find the Pionerska street, but lack of hotel's signpost. The hotel is a good choice for short stay (if you expect medium standard). (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Balazs from Hungary wrote on 06.12.2004: The hotel was even better than it had described. The receptionist was kind, and the administration was fast and easy. The rooms were simple, but they were clean, and we had got towels and soap. The room included a TV with cable programs. Of course every room had shower and toilet. This hotel is a good choice for travellers who don't want to spend much money, but they wouldn't like sleep in a noisy hostel. The downtown is about 3/4 hours from the hotel on foot. By tram is much more faster. Of course in this hotel isn't a curfew, so you can wander all night in the downtown. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Craig from United Kingdom wrote on 18.11.2004: The hotel was lovely and staff friendly and receptive. Price for the service made it very good value for money. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Walter from Belgium wrote on 29.09.2004: The desciption of the hotel fitted exactly; and the breakfast was, in itself, a very nice surprise! The best we have ever had in an hotel. I would, by all means, recommend this hotel to people who have no need for a luxury accomodation. Room, bed, toilet and showers are clean, and the staff is friendly and correct. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Jorge from Sweden wrote on 03.09.2004: The room was comfortable, the breakfast good and the personnel helpful. I suppose many people would, though, prefer a more central location. It didn't bother me. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Katherine from USA wrote on 28.08.2004: Hostel Zvarac was affordable, clean, quiet, had a good breakfast included, and the staff were terrific. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Anna from Poland wrote on 20.08.2004: I was delighted with my stay in Zvarac hotel. It was nice, clean, close to the railway and bus station and the city center, as described. A problem was the time of breakfast: I understand that 7-8.30 is very useful for business trips, but it was terrible for holidays :) (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) Soren from Sweden wrote on 05.08.2004: Their service and standard of the hotel was good and it was clean too. It didn't look good from the outside and it didn't tell it was a hotel either from the outside. We felt it was an old buildning from the communist time. But efforts was made inside espacially in the room to wash away the communist stamp. We are satisfied with the hotel and staff. The breakfast was big and good. I would definitely recommend Hotel Zvarac to other travellers. I think it was quite good well worth the money. (<< Back to Hotel Zvarac) << Back to Hotel Zvarac |
