Botel Marina is Bratislava's newest and most luxurious botel (a boat hotel located permanently docked on the river) located on the shore of the river Danube under the castle hill about 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre.
The botel offers 61 beds in 33 cosy boat-cabin size twin rooms, 3 singles and 2 small suites with double beds all equipped with air-conditioning, minibar and TV.
Twin rooms have two separate fixed beds (which can not be connected) and offer limited space to unpack and store your luggage. The two boat-cabin Suites offer double beds and a small ante-room with seating.
Rooms are luxuriously furnished in retro style, albeit small, as you would expect in a boat hotel. The botel is very favourably priced given its near-central location.
The botel offers a gourmet restaurant, as well as a small night bar/club catering mainly to botel guests. Access to the botel is from the river bank via an incline gang-plank not suitable for older or disabled visitors.

Botel Marina Marelize from South Africa on a tour wrote on 09.08.2010 2010-08-09 :We had a very good value for money stay at the Botel Marina!. During our 8 country (private) tour arranged by ourselves, being tourists mature couple (and that included staying in the Sheraton in Warsaw and the Kempinsky Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria), I must say that we were very happy with our stay at this Botel.
Upon arrival, we 'met up with the most unfriendly receptionist on our whole tour'!. This was the one with the dark hair. She is NO asset to the owners of the Botel Marina. So much so, that she disgusted us, that I was going to invite friends over for dinner, but decided to take them somewhere else. The next day however, there was a very efficient and very friendly blond receptionist (and we booked another night).
The cabin was clean and overall everything was in good order - again very good value for money..........except the 'first' receptionist.
Botel Marina Sture from Norway on a romantic holiday wrote on 01.08.2010 2010-08-01 :We were very satisfied with the hotel and with the town as well.
Botel Marina Philp from UK on business wrote on 20.07.2010 2010-07-20 :Experience of Botel Marina: Pleasant location, clean rooms. I liked the free wi-fi which was very useful and easy to connect to. Helpful lady on reception but she did not know how to use the credit card machine and tried to make me pay cash (though she did work it out in the end). She was kind and helpful though, so would just need to be shown how it works. A better arrangement for an early breakfast would be good - I just had a basic box with some ham and eggs and muesli. And no plate, knife, spoon etc.
The city was fine (I have been a few times before, and the hotel is well placed for a short walk to the old centre.
Overall not bad - 75%!

Botel Marina Joann from England on a weekend break wrote on 19.03.2010 2010-03-19 :Location - good, just a 5 minute walk into city centre, cleanliness - good, quality - ok, overall value - you get what you pay for
I would not choose or recommend anyone to stay on the botel marina due to noise from staff/other people staying on board. We stayed on a very quiet week (11-13 March) and each morning we were woken at 6 or 7 am by people talking outside the room, or shouting, which is not good when you have people trying to sleep. Also there was only one member of staff (a young girl on reception on the boat) who tried to speak English, but I found this to be a problem all over the city.
Botel Marina James from UK wrote on 12.04.2009 2009-04-12 :The Botel was as expected, it was clean, well located and overall good value. Our only complaint was the heat in the rooms, the air conditioning in all the rooms was very poor with all of us complaining about how hot and very uncomfortable the rooms were. If the units operate in the same way during the summer the rooms would be unbearable.
The reception from the Botel was excellent.
