I expected that hotel will be more bigger. I was alone but I got a 3 bed bedroom. Location is great - you can reach all the tourist spots on foot and even walk to Aupark shopping centre within 15 minutes.

Old City Hotel is a quaint small pension-style hotel on the top floors of a historical building directly in the Old Town's pedestrian zone.

The hotel offers three types of the rooms. 'Standard' rooms (two triple rooms and one double/twin room) share one bathroom. 'Comfort' rooms (six triple rooms and three double/twin rooms) are equipped with its own ensuite shower and toilet. 'Classic' rooms (one triple room and two double/twin rooms) include a bathroom ensuite. 'Classic' rooms have both entrance and windows situated towards the pub and therefore are more noisy (especially during the weekends).

All rooms are equipped with a TV, DVD player (on request) and a radio. A fridge is available at reception. Rooms are non-smoking but there is a smoking area at the reception.

The hotel is located on the third floor with no elevator and is thus not suitable for guests who may have trouble negotiating the stairs or carrying their luggage up. The non-stop reception offers drinks and snacks, as well as access to a telephone and fax. The payment must be made in cash in Slovak crowns or major foreign currencies, as credit cards are not accepted.

Guests with cars must park in one of the nearby paid underground parking garages (approximate cost SKK 40 (EUR 1.26) per hour) about five minutes walk.

Breakfast is not included in the price listed. Available breakfast: Light breakfast available for SKK 100 (EUR 3.15) (toast, ham, cheese, tea or coffee).

Discounts: 10% discount on stays over 10 days.

Additional information: No credit card is required for reservation. Rooms are held until 5 p.m. on day of arrival. Guests arriving after 5 p.m. must telephone the hotel on day of arrival for room to be held.

To get there by public transport:
From the Airport take bus bus no. 61 to the Main Train Station (25 minutes).

From Main Train Station take bus 93 to Zochova stop. Walk through underground pedestrian underpass to its other end, continues below tram tracks, down Klariska, cross through walkway to Michalska, Old City Hotel is the orange building on the corner in front of you (13 minutes).

From the Bus Station take trolleybus 206 or 208 to Hodzovo Square, walk past Europa Business Centre down to Michalska - you can see the white tower at top of the street (10 minutes).

Location -- good but floor was so bad w/o lift. Cleanliness -- worst. My wife was very disappointed, almost became sick. Overall value -- never again.
"Comfort room" was not comfort at all. The room and bath were so dirty. I chose the hotel based on a recommendation by a conference organizer. But it was so bad.
The Hotel requested us to pay all the room charge at check-in. So we had no freedom to cancel when we entered into the dirty "Comfort room".
I hope that the conference organizer or Bratislava Hotels should not put the Old City Hotel on their Web page, so as not to make victims like us any more.

The description does not include one important fact, that Old City hotel is situated above a night bar (or similar) and that it is really really loud (only visitors' comments include this fact).

The description was correct. Also the commends of other guests that there were a lot of stairs to climb before reaching the reception was right!

There were no cups in the room. The room was clean, but not very clean.
Your hotel is more suitable for the younger people, not for families or
older guests. You should warn your guests about this - especially at new years eave, it is very noisy and the rooms are not soundproof at all! You should warn your guests about the fact that there is no lift.

The hotel was all right, not luxurious but the place in the middle of the old town was perfect. I think though, that you should add a warning about the stairs. It was difficult to get to the room with the heavy suitcases. For the disabled persons it would be impossible.
