It was very very very disappointing, the staff was not kind at all, none spoke English and the first day we arrive, they couldn't tell us the number of our room, or some informations about the city. The room was small, and we couldn't close the toilets' door because it was too small. The shower was broken and when we take showers, there were water everywhere in the room, and the staff didn't care, they say they couldn't do anything. For the breakfast, the made us pay more than it was written because they didn't speak English and they abuse us. It was a very very bad stay and we're gonna tell everybody who wants to go in Bratislava not to go in this pension. (<< Back to Pension Gremium)

Pension Gremium was as described on the website, however the double room was bigger than expected. I think Pension Gremium is suitable for all travellers looking for a good deal, however travellers who would struggle with stairs should maybe not choose this hotel as there are 2 flights to the hotel and no lift access! Pension Gremium was as expected. It is not posh but the location is excellent. It is clean and has all the facilities we needed. The Pension Gremium was exactly what I expected for the money I was spending. It's certainly not a 4 star hotel, but for travellers on a budget, it is perfect. The shower in the middle of the roomis a little bit awkward, but it was worth it to not have to use a community bathroom. I would recommend the Pension Gremium to budget travellers. Unfortunately it was pretty much as described from people who stayed there previously. There was a smell of grease and cigarette smell in the room. Light of the corridor lightened the room at night time. Restroom was tiny and the only way to regulate the temperature in the room was by opening the window (radiator couldn't be regulated). Staff is friendly but not of big help. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying there :-( Only plus is location. (<< Back to Pension Gremium)

The pension was of a very low standard, but it was in the proper heart of the town. Only one lamp for reading above one bed. The shower cabin was in the room! Incredible. The toilet was so small so the legs had to be outside when using it. There was a dirty carpet covering the floor, which is extremly dangerous for allergic people! The beds were uncomfortable. Outside the room was a very dirty balcony. The lady in the reception was nice and kind. She spoke English. The only advantage. The pension is excellent for the movements in the city, near to centre but....the room is not very good; the bathroom (?) is too little...for me (187 cm), was impossible to close the door !!!! absurd...really inconvenient! I must say I would not recommend it to other travellers. We booked a double room, however, when we arrived we were given a twin room. The staff were not very friendly nor helpful and it was so noisy we barely slept.
There was a glass panel at the top of the bedroom wall which joined the hallway, so everytime the hall light was switched on our room also lit up. The walls were thin and doors were slamming all night - it was like a hostel than a pension. It was not a pleasant night and I would advise vistors to steer clear of Pension Gremium. I was disappointed with the hotel generally. I expected a higher standard in decor and quality overall. My room was not clean and there was no way I could fit into the tiny toilet they had in the room. The shower did not work very well. There was a lot of noise both from the street and from other guests in the adjoining room. I could hear them flatulating, talking about sex and snoring as if they were in my room and overall it was quite an unpleasant experience. I would not recommend Pension Gremium to any person who was used to a clean and quiet hotels. I also thought it was overpriced for the accommodation it comprised although it was extremely central. We enjoyed the room. The Pension was in a good location, and it was easy to tour Bratislava using it as a base. Although the room was over the sports bar, the noise did not last very late, and it did not bother us at all. It was very convenient to eat at the restaurant in the morning, and enjoy a beer before going to bed. The only negative aspect of the room was that the toilet area was very cramped, and it was very difficult to use the bathroom. Although the two of us are tall, we are not particulary large people - anyone much larger would not be able to use the toilet unless they left the door open.

The pension was quite clean and we didn’t find any cockroaches, as it was mentioned in a previous review. The only negative thing of the room, was that the toilet was really small. We have been "attacked" by ants the last night! The shower is right in front of the bed so the person sees you taking a shower, which isn't nice. Toilet: can't close the door (it's too small). The Gremium was a great choice in terms of a budget pension within easy walking distance of the historic sites/district. Those expecting plush accommodations will be disappointed, but we felt is was exactly as advertised and a very convenient place to stay. Unfortunately the hotel was not up the standard we were expecting from the description in our guidebooks and online. It was more of the standard of a hostel than a hotel. Our guidebook suggested it was "a clean and inexpensive option in the old town". It was not clean. After the first night I woke up with a number of bites but assumed that, because we had the window open, a mosquito must have got in. The second night we barely slept. Once I had put out the light, I felt a number of creatures crawling over my skin, when I switched on the light my pillow was covered in mini cockroaches. When I killed these, they exploded with blood, presumably my blood. The bed was ridden with these bugs. I counted at least 50 bites covering my legs, arms and face. We had a sleepless night, my friend on the floor and myself trying to sleep on a chair as we refused to go near the bed again. We complained the next morning and was instantly offered a full refund, we got the impression that this was not the first complaint about bed bugs. (<< Back to Pension Gremium)

The Pension was as it was described. My room was comfortable and clean. The Pension is above a restaurant where I was able to get my breakfast and a filled bagel to take away for my lunch. It was actually better than I expected - I knew going into it that there was a bar downstairs and that it was supposed to be quite loud, but I slept very well and the accommodation was more comfortable than I anticipated. The room and the hotel facilities were just as described, so my expectations were met in full. The room was clean and comfortable and I personally I didn't mind the noise coming from the bar downstairs - this may however be a problem for some people. We think the Gremium Hotel offered a clean budget room at a reasonable price. It is situated in the city center. Although the cafe downstairs is busy, we weren't bothered because it closed at 00:00h. I would recommend Gremium to young people who like simple accommodation - less to people who like a more quiet place to stay or a luxurious room. It didn't really bother us, but for instance the sink is very small and the windows didn't close properly. Pension Gremium is in a good central location and a good low budget option for any traveller and the staff were patient and helpful. The beds and blankets were on the small side for us (all over 1m80) and the toilets were tiny to say the least (sit down and the door couldn't close anymore). It is clearly a 'get what you pay for' kind of accommodation and despite these minor drawbacks I would recommend this place to any traveller on a budget. (<< Back to Pension Gremium)

Very good central location. Friendly staff. Internet connection not reliable !! computer was not working. Bathroom basic but ok. Very nice breakfast. 1970's decoration which was fun. I would recommend it to friends. I would warn them that the showers are tight, that the room is not made daily, that the air gets smoky in the evening. I would tell them that the staff is super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant (all three of us are over 60 years old).
