The average salary in Slovakia was about SKK 21131 (EUR 660.59) before taxes in the final quarter of 2006, but somewhat higher in Bratislava, which is the country's richest region.
Exchanging money:
ATMs using Cirrus, Plus, VisaElectron, Maestro (over 300 locations all over Bratislava)
Foreign Exchange Offices (at airport, train station, shopping centers, shopping areas)
Banks (most locations offer foreign exchange services for major currencies).
Generally, the preferred ways of exchanging currency are either at foreign exchange offices (they are numerous in the city centre so you will be able to compare rates and commissions) or by withdrawing Slovak crowns from an ATM (depending on your bank's fees for foreign withdrawals you may be able to obtain a very attractive exchange rate).
