We were overall very pleased with the accommodation in Bratislava. The location was excellent and was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of towels, however they were of quite poor quality. We are aware that the weather was unusually hot, however we think that a flat should have at least a good sized fan for the summer. We asked for a fan but it was not provided. However the landlady was very pleasant and helpful, including providing bicycles, although we did not use them as the tariff was too expensive (more than an independent provider).

Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is a comfortable studio apartment in a very central location in the Old Town's pedestrian zone, which sleeps a maximum of three people.

The apartment features one room with a double bed and an additional mattrace. There is an LCD TV set. The apartment offers a view of the Old Town Hall tower from the room and wonderful castle views from the bathroom window. It has simple furnishings.

The apartment contains a bathroom with a shower corner and toilet. There is a kitchen with a hot plate, fridge, freezer, dishes and silverware.

Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is located on top, fifth floor in a building with elevator. Its size is 40 square meters (approximately 400 square feet) and it sleeps up to three persons. The owner can provide guests two bikes (subject to availability).

It is very central, right next to the old Opera building of the Slovak National Theatre in the Hviezdoslavovo Square. The owner operates another apartment on another floor in the same building (Apartment Old Centre - Rybarska Brana for up to seven persons).

Tram tunnel under the castle hill is undergoing reconstruction until September 2010 (estimated). Changes to the tram service include closing of the lines no. 11 and no. 14. Tram no. 16 replaces these lines with the service from Komisarky (Raca district) via city centre (Obchodna, SNP square and Kamenne square) to Astronomicka (Ruzinov). See the detailed timetable. Trams no. 1, 5 and 9 are re-routed via SNP square, Ludovit Stur square and the Danube embankment.

Reconstruction of tram tracks near Trnavske Myto affects tram lines no. 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 14. Bus lines no. X6 and X14 service the affected stops.

Public transport directions
From Airport take bus no. 61 and get off at Racianske Myto. Take tram no. 11 and get off at Jesenskeho stop. Continue walking in the direction of tram turning to the right at the first corner. Walk straight and turn left to Gorkeho street. Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is on your right in the passage. (35 minutes)

From Main Train Station take tram no. 13 and get off at Jesenskeho stop. Continue walking in the direction of tram turning to the right at the first corner. Walk straight and turn left to Gorkeho street. Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is on your right in the passage. (14 minutes)

From Bus Station take bus no. 50, get off at Safarikovo square stop. Walk by the tram tracks for about 100 meters passing the traffic lights. Turn left, cross the street at traffic lights and continue in the same direction on the opposite side of the street (still following tram tracks). Turn left to Gorkeho street and walk another 250 meters. Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is in located in the house no. 7 on your right. (10 minutes)

From Berg border crossing:
Take route E58 (Viedenska road) until the exit to E75 (Einsteinova street). Follow Einsteinova street. Continue until exit to the Novy most - New Bridge and use it to cross the Danube. Keep to the right and exit the bridge using first exit. Pass under the bridge, on the traffic lights turn to the left (almost 360 degrees) and continue along Danube river bank. Pass under the bridge once again and continue on Razusovo nabrezie (Razus embankment) until second traffic lights. Turn to the left, pass Ludovit Stur statue and continue straight. Hotel Carlton underground garage is directly in front of you.

From highway D61:
Pass IKEA and Hypernova shopping malls and follow the "centrum" (city center) traffic signs. Drive straight towards Pristavny most (Port bridge), below the overpass to the roundabout. Follow the "centrum" sign. You are now on Pristavna street. Drive straight down the street, continue straight to the Landererova street. In the end of Landererova street turn to the left to Dostojevskeho rad. Pass the traffic lights and continue on Vajanskeho nabrezie (Vajansky Embankment). On next traffic light turn right pass Ludovit Stur statue and continue straight. Hotel Carlton underground garage is directly in front of you.

The Studio Old Centre - Rybarska brana is very clean. For our need it was very good.
We slept very well in the studio! Ms. Zanini was very kind and showed us where we can eat for a good price and how we have to travel in the city.

Perfect: small appartment located right in the Opera Square. Quiet
because it faces the internal side of the building. I really think that
it would be harder to find anything better at this price. The lady who
