Location was a little bit far way from the city center. About cleanliness it was Ok. On the first morning the breakfast was very poor, bread, jam, butter, milk, coffee and tea; next morning was enough. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Everything about the reservation and subsequent stay at the Turist Hotel in Bratislava was efficiently and promptly handled, including the booking confirmation number arriving within 24 hours.
The location was extremely convenient for airport (good bus connection on the number 61), and convenient for bus (9 or 14) into town.Accomodation extremely rudimentary (as expected from description), but clean, warm, plenty hot water, and rooms a perfectly good size.
Some rooms have been renovated to a higher standard.
Overall good value.

Your description of Hotel Turist was accurate, maybe I would say the hotel is not so close to the inner city by walking, as you described, but anybody can see that at Google-Map. And to reach
the center by tram was quick and simple.
The location of the hotel is practical for visiting the city, and to reach the airport by public bus as well!!!
The ground-floor of the Hotel Turist is restored, it is simple but nice, rooms have the proper size, nice and clean bathroom, so the overall
value of the hotel is convenient.

We stayed 7 nights at the hotel.
The hotel is near the airport and near to the city centre. These are the positive things of the hotel.
Our rooms have never been cleaned. The beds have never been made, and the sheets never changed.
The bath is very small and poor. You can’t hang a towel, nothing. The towels are very small, so small that you can dry only your hands. After a shower, it was a big problem to dry. We asked for big towels, but we got them only once.
The windows are old and some of them can’t be closed.
The breakfast is very poor. I understand it is a 2 star hotel, but
some levels must be guaranteed.
It is far from the western Europe standard. Of course it is not to be
recommended to families. It can be good only for young people who try to save money, without looking to services.
This hotel seemed to belong to the Soviet period. Maybe it was a good hotel 30 years ago, but it must now change a lot of things to be recommended.

The hotel was as expected, nothing fancy, but not a complete dump. Because of the hot temperature it was quite hot, but beyond hotel control as there was no aircon. The stated fridge in the room wasn't there though. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

The hotel room, we stayed in, was a good one, but there were no refrigerator and a hair-dryer as it is described in the web-site. The bathroom was rather old-equipped. During our stay there were reparation action in a part f the hotel which produced a loud noise. Except a few causes, the receptionists were not very courteous. As a conclusion, I would say that if these remarks are concerned, hotel Turist has the potential of being a very good hotel. It is reasonably-prized and is suitable for a wide range of guests. Hotel Tourist is a budget hotel (as was clearly indicated on the website), and offers accommodation in agreement with its price. It means: simple, no room service, no breakfast (but for 50-60 Sk a simple meal was available).
So don't expect luxury, but it was clean and friendly. I do not agree with the last comment on your website about this hotel: it is too negative in general.
A further comment: the distance to the historical centre is more than 15 minutes walk (about 25), but you can take a bus or tramway, and this takes 10 minutes only.

The hotel was clean and the staff very approachable. The advertising also met with the standards of the hotel and the price was very reasonable. The hotel probably best suits independent travellers who like the freedom to come & go. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

The hotel was great, very valuable for the price, and the staff exquisite. The only inconvenience was that it was very far from all the venues, or so it seemed to me. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

To be honest it was a little bit worse than expected. The toilet and shower room didn't attract me at all, the rest was okay. I recommend it to budget travellers who want to see the city and only need a hotel room to sleep at. It is definitively not a hotel to spend some time at, for example in the room. All in all the stay was okay, hotel staff was friendly, the room was clean. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

That hotel met all my expectations and satisfied me. It's ideal for sport-travellers, who wants to visit football or hockey matches but too far from historical center. In general, hotel Turist costs its price. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Good points: booking available through the internet, English speaking staff, nice rooms, Billa is close to it, close to tram stop, centre is only 15 minutes by tram.
Bad points: not so close to the centre, price could be a bit lower.

Good for the price and it felt safe. It was very difficult to find, and was not high quality atmosphere, but was a very good deal for the price. The staff was friendly. I will likely stay there again in the future. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Hotel "Turist" was as expected and even more. Moreover, as it's allowed to stay with pets, hotel has very comfortable place for walking with. It's really difficult to say if hotel is proper to others or not, because it depends on purpose of travel, financial position of traveler and many other reasons, but we were really satisfied with location, rooms and very polite service staff. If we come to Bratislava again, perhaps we'll choose the same hotel. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Good choice: price is convenient, area is ok. Service in the hotel is ok.
Bad choice: not for those who want to be in the center or want beautiful view or historical street, hotel can be a little noisy in the night because of the return of some happy partyers.

Norberto from Italy wrote on 02.08.2005 2005-08-02:
The hotel was decent, pretty clean... The room was large, breakfast and service were good. People there spoke English and German, I've seen. The only problem about Hotel Tourist is that it's quite distant from the city centre... One hour on foot as far as the castle. But orientation in Bratislava is easy, bus and tramway-net is very good, better than in Italy, I can say... I could recommend the hotel to people who don't want to pay that much, look for a quiet place and are not afraid of walking! (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Chris from UK wrote on 23.07.2005 2005-07-23:
The hotel is basic but has everything you need and the breakfast is very good. They could offer bigger bath towels and the bathrooms could be modernised a bit. It is a good place for cyclists because, for a small fee, they put your bike in a very safe cellar area. I think the hotel is in a good location and there is a Billa supermarket nearby. Hotel Tourist is a no nonsense hotel with the all the necessities and a good and very inexpensive breakfast. I think that it is an OK choice for others that don't mind the location outside of the center of Bratislava and don't want to spend much money on the hotel. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

Good choice: reasonable price for the budget traveler. Rooms are clean and functional but Soviet style. Not so good: 15 minutes tram ride from the train station. Also if a guest arrives late at night (after
22:00), no restaurants or cafes nearby. These are minor inconveniences. For the budget traveler the Hotel Turist is fine.

It was a bit under standard, but it was ok. I didn't have a feeling it was a good value for money, a bit too expensive for the quality offered. Being close to the train station is an advantage. (<< Back to Hotel Turist)3

The Hotel Turist was very functional and tidy. Nothing spectacular, but nice all the same. The showers leaked though. Alena on reception was very, very sweet.
