Latest reviews of Hotel UVS:We liked the location of the hotel, although we missed a variety in restaurants close by (at a reasonable price). We thought the hotel was clean, but there is an awful smell in the carpeted corridors. For visitors from abroad the decoration seems dated. Apart these things we valued the friendliness of your personnel and the effort they took to speak English. Johanna from Netherlands on holiday wrote on 05.08.2010 More reviews...
UVS is a simple hotel located in a nice, hilly and green part of Bratislava, Kramare, 15 minutes by public transport and an additional five minutes walk from the city centre.
The hotel is a part of the Institute of Adult Education, an organization providing a variety of training courses in the facility. The rooms are simple, perhaps betraying the hotel's origin as a former state institution. But the staff are very friendly and the hotel offers beautiful views of the city in a serene setting.
All type "A" rooms have a shower and WC, radio and TV. Business rooms are equipped with nicer furnishings, also have a fridge.
The hotel is suitable for budget travellers or business travellers on a tighter budget, or for anyone seeking a quiet environment. Parking for guests with cars is available free of charge.
The 5-10 minutes walk from the bus stop is uphill and may not be suitable for guests who have trouble walking.
Breakfast is included in the price listed (Continental breakfast served from 6:45 am to 9:00 am on weekdays, from 7:00 am to 9:30 am on weekends).
Rooms contain: TV shower toilet

Hotel UVS Jakov from Croatia attending the World Dog Show. wrote on 16.10.2009 2009-10-16:Hotel UVS proved to be a very convenient place to stay at. Located only a few minutes outside city center and with its own parking place, it was just what we had been looking for. The staff at reception were helpful at all times so everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The room was nice and the beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also good but there were some problems with draining water from the sink. Breakfast was very nice. The only problem we encountered was that none of the elevators were working but since we're young and didn't carry much baggage with us, it really wasn't such a problem.3
Hotel UVS Harald from Czech Republic on holiday wrote on 25.09.2009 2009-09-25:The quality of the hotel was not good in relation to the price: Not clean (room, bathroom, elevators), window locks and balcony door lock were in a terrible state. Toilet space inside the bathroom was not sufficient. We stayed for two nights, but our room was not attended. We regret ther was no tourist information in the hotel. (Begining with a simple city map/guide) 3
Hotel UVS Anna from Hungary wrote on 03.04.2009 2009-04-03:I was very satisfied with my stay in UVS hotel. I received the booking confirmation in time. Staff of the hotel was very helpful and found all information about bus connections etc. that I needed. Breakfasts were good, atmosphere in the hotel also was good and friendly.
Description of Hotel UVS is accurate.3
Hotel UVS Gabor from Hungary wrote on 31.10.2007 2007-10-31:Location: Well, it's quite far from the center - by foot however this not problem at all. Actually I originally planed arrive by bike but finelly I arrive by train. Our trip by bus was short and we need so much time to buy tickets because the clerks didn't speak English at all.
Cleanliness: The room was clear however I expected room service, cleaning the rest room and changeing the towels everyday. The towels were clear but old and frazzled. The door of the bathroom couldn't be shut.
Quality: The furnitures and the TV were right. The Hungarian channels made us surprised.
Breakfast: I missed the hot meals like sausages and fried eggs. The coffee was weak and terrible. (I hope this NOT the typical Slovakian coffee.) The place of breakfast closed exactly at 9 o'clock. Actually it is correct but in other hotel there's no time limit for breakfast.
Staff: The English of several colleagues was not perfect but I was happy because we could understand each other. Everybody helped us to solve smaller or bigger problems. The most of women - even cleaners - looked young and pretty.3

Hotel UVS Codrut from Romania wrote on 17.07.2007 2007-07-17:The hotel was not what I had expected! The room was small, the bathroom was very, very small and it's not easy to find it (off-course, if you're for the first time in Bratislava)! I recommend it to anyone has a very limited budget and is interested to stay in Slovakia. Also, the breakfast is not too great.3
