What is a city centre for us?

When you live in Bratislava longer, you tend to treat broader city centre as the city centre. Specially, when you think in terms of city size (Bratislava's Old Town is rather small) compared to the other capitals in Europe.

However, we had to choose different approach to marking city centre for our guests coming to Bratislava. If you travel, city centre is much smaller for you - tourists think rather in terms of walking distance. Accommodation options in the city centre on our website are therefore all within 15 minutes of walk to the central point - Main square (Hlavne namestie). As north-eastern part of the Old Town lies on the hilly terrain, we cut the city centre border at Palisady street as further streets could be quite steep.

These are the exact borders of city centre for BratislavaHotels.com:

  • New bridge (Novy most) - Staromestska - Zamocka via Skarniclova up to Palisady - Palisady
  • Hodzovo square - Nam. 1. maja - Kollarovo square
  • Radlinskeho up to 29. augusta
  • 29. augusta up to Dostojevskeho rad
  • Dostojevskeho rad up to Olejkarska
  • Olejkarska - Pribinova - Safarikovo square
  • Vajanskeho embankment - Razusovo enbankment up to New bridge
