Although Bratislava has many monuments, St. Martin’s Cathedral is one of the landmarks of the city. For centuries it has been the focus of cultural, religious and social life and still has its glory.

Coronations were certainly the most famous period in the history of the St. Martin’s Cathedral. Coronations took place during the years 1563-1830 when it was a coronation cathedral of the Hungarian Kingdom. There were held nineteen coronations.
